A Creative Writing Lesson:

I’m often asked, “Is it hard to write a book?” The answer is no. Writing in the 21st Century takes three main ingredients… #1. You will need a computer…with a keyboard (working without the keyboard makes for a long day).  #2. You will need plenty of caffeine. Coffee is the most convenient delivery method. You can take it intravenously, but that leaves holes in your body.  #3. You will need some imagination. This last part is kind of important, and it’s not readily available at most major retailers.

So when you’re all ready to go, all you have to do is sit down at your computer with a cup of coffee and start making stuff up…. That’s it.

Oh yeah… one more thing… Time. You’ll need to set aside a little time to stir those ingredients well and let them simmer… It usually takes me about 500 hours to write a western. Good Luck.

I'll try to post on here 2 or 3 times a week. If you want to be notified when a post is up...

I’m Back Folks!!

Okay… I couldn’t stay away. I’ll admit I was a little worn down, and it took a toll on me, but I seemed to have come back with a whole new bunch of nonsense and B D (that stands for Bull Droppings… this is a family blog you know).
Part of the problem was keeping up with all the random thoughts and getting them into something more secure than my memory. Actually, my memory is very secure… things go in there, and you couldn’t get them out with a crowbar. So I started carrying little spiral bound notebooks, which was a step in the right direction. But alas, one needs to be sure he is armed not only with not only the pad, but a pen or pencil. Then I invested in a small Sony digital recorder. Now, no matter where I am, all I have to do is flip the switch… click click and speak. All I have to remember is to keep fresh AAA batteries… I buy them by the gross and keep them all over the house and car. Sometimes finding them can be an issue.
So rest assured… The Foolishness will go on at www.loubradshaw.blogspot.com, but just not on a daily basis. I hope you’ve missed me as much as I’ve missed you.

While I was on my sabbatical, I added another book to my list.
